I have had several large crock pots over the years, but I remember the first one I had very well. My father gave me my first large crock pot, or slow cooker as he called it, for Christmas 25 years ago and it is still working to this day, but I lent it to a friend and I never got it back.

You can make a fantastic meal for the whole family and have it cook itself while you are at work. It is great! It saves you an hour or two a day and the programmable crock pots will have your meal waiting for you at any time you want to eat.

If you get one of the large crock pots, especially a programmable crock pot, you can cook a whole chicken or a joint of meat to just the right tenderness. For a single person a large crock pot may be too large. In that case, you could get yourself a 2 quart crock pot, otherwise you would be eating the same food for a week!
